Driveways & gardens
Everything we install, on one page. Driveway surfaces, patios and gardens, and the groundworks that sit under both. Pick the one that matches the job you have in mind — each page carries its own prices, its own photographs and the honest case against it.
Driveways
Five surfaces, one build-up. The surface is a choice; the 150mm underneath it isn't.

Full-width charcoal tumbled block with a contrasting border Driveways
The overview: what each surface costs, how long it lasts and how it fails.

Silver grey tumbled block, full width to a double garage Block paving
Individually replaceable, permeable if specified, and the easiest surface to lift and relay.

Resin bound surfacing taped off while it cures at the entrance Resin bound
Smooth and seamless, laid over a sound base — the base decides whether it lasts.

Tarmac drive with a red block border on a curved edge Tarmac
The cheapest full-depth surface per square metre, best on larger, simpler shapes.

Pattern imprinted concrete driveway in a charcoal slate texture Imprinted concrete
One continuous slab with a pattern rolled in — and the caveats that come with that.
Gravel
The lowest cost done properly, with edging and a stabilising grid rather than loose stone on soil.

Brindle tumbled block with charcoal soldier course and a channel drain at the road edge Permeable & SUDS
Where the water goes when the drive replaces a lawn, and when planning permission applies.

Channel drain set flush at the road edge Driveway repairs
Sinking, rutting and failed edges — what can be lifted and relaid, and what can't.
Patios & Gardens
Falls set before laying, drainage designed in, and levels that work with the door threshold.

Autumn sandstone patio with brick-edged steps Patios
Indian sandstone and porcelain on a full mortar bed, laid to a fall away from the house.
Indian sandstone
Warmer in tone, cheaper, forgiving to cut and lay.
Porcelain
Dimensionally perfect and near maintenance-free, on a slurry-primed full bed.

Full garden build: rendered retaining walls, new turf and a porcelain seating terrace Landscaping & garden makeovers
Whole-garden builds: levels, retaining walls, steps, beds, lawns and terraces.
Turfing
Ground prepared and levelled first, not turf rolled over lumps.
Artificial grass
On a permeable compacted sub-base so it drains and stays flat.
Retaining walls & steps
Concrete footing, drainage and free-draining backfill behind every wall.
Groundworks
The part nobody sees, photographed before it's covered.

Recessed cover cut into a block drive so the pattern runs through it Groundworks
Excavation, sub-base preparation, drainage and level changes.
Shed & garden room bases
Built to the building supplier's published specification, level within millimetres.
Concrete bases
Reinforced where the load or span calls for it — including hot tub bases specified filled.
