Plain-language terms. Nothing here replaces the written quote for your job — if anything in the quote conflicts with this page, the quote wins.
Quotes
Every job is quoted in writing at a fixed price before we start. The quote sets out what is included: dig-out depths, type-1 sub-base or the correct base for the surface, edging, drainage, and clearing up afterwards. If the ground throws up something the quote couldn't have foreseen — buried concrete, a failed soakaway, unrecorded services — we stop, explain it and agree any change with you in writing before continuing.
Payment
Payment terms are confirmed in writing with your fixed price. Jobs that qualify get our zero deposit option, where nothing is paid until the job is finished; otherwise the materials are paid for when we break ground and the balance on completion. There are no stage payments on either route, and the price is the same either way.
Finished means the surface laid, jointed and swept, the site cleared, and your build record handed over. We walk the job with you that day and payment is due that day, by bank transfer or card. Anything on the snagging list is dated for a return visit and doesn't hold the payment.
Guarantee
New installations where we build the base are covered by a written guarantee: ten years on the sub-base — the part of the job you'll never see, and the part most failures come from — and ten years on the surface laid over it. Repairs, turfing and fencing carry their own terms. The guarantee page sets out what's covered and what isn't.
Your responsibilities
- Clear access to the work area on the agreed days, and parking nearby for our vehicles where possible.
- Telling us about anything buried in the area we'll dig — pipes, cables, tree stumps.
- Utility covers and meter boxes stay accessible; we'll set recessed covers to match where needed.
If something goes wrong
Ring us. Most problems are settled with a visit and a repair inside the guarantee period, and we'd always rather know than not.
